''Ephysteris scimitarella'' is a moth in the Gelechiidae family. It was described by Landry in 2010. It is found on the Galapagos Islands.〔(funet.fi )〕 The length of the forewings is 4.2-4.7 mm. The forewings have off-white, brown-tipped scaling, overlaid with orange-ochre scales of variable shades on the veins and along the side veins and anal area on the basal half. There are beige, narrower scales on the distal half of the costa and two black dots in the fold at one-third and above the fold. The hindwings are greyish brown. Adults have been recorded on wing in February, March and May. ==Etymology== The species name refers to the scimitar-schaped signum in the female corpus bursae.〔(Revue suisse zool. 117 (4) : 714 )〕
